Roy Allen (Engineering) Ltd was established in Diss, Norfolk, by my late father, Roy Allen in 1973. I joined him the next year, closely followed by my two brothers. Today, both my children have joined the family firm and altogether we have built a reputation for efficiency and quality workmanship. We pride ourselves on repeat custom and still have some customers that used us when the company was first started.

A large part of our business is the specialist field of steel framed buildings. All the fabrication work is carried out in our workshops at Fair Green, and the site work, from erection to completion, is coordinated from our offices here. We can also provide a full design and detailing service, complete with building works. Repair and replacement work is also undertaken on all kinds of buildings. Over the past few years, we have also manufactured and erected Golf Driving Ranges.

We carry out a variety of general and light fabrication work including:

• Animal feeders
• Hoppers
• Decorative ironwork - such as gates and fencing
• Staircases and walkways
• Agricultural machinery repairs
• Milling and lathe work

Our cutting shop provides trade and general public with a vast selection of mild steel sections, with many sizes of angle, universal beams, columns, circular hollow section, rectangular and square box section, solid square and round, flat sheet etc. We stock a small selection of aluminium and stainless steel flat. Plastisol sheet can also be purchased from us - flat or profiled - in a variety of British Standard colours. These can be cut and/or folded to required lengths and sizes.

We are also agents for Air Products plc and hold a large stock of different gases at Diss.
